What is performance testing and what is it’s importance?

Performance testing is the segment of software testing where the software applications are tested on a particular work load. This work load are calculated based on the user experience and is usually shared by the Business Team. And the behavior of that application like stability and response time under that predefined workload is measured and shared with customers.

This is highly required now a days because performance of application is directly related to user experience. And as this generation has very short attention and everything they want very quick and fast. So delaying in loading the application or any web page by only one second also leads to a very bad user experience and which will affect the company financially.

Suppose, there is going offer on both Walmart and Amazon. That’s why there is a sudden spike of users requests. But the page loading time is very high in any one of this site because of poor handling of this sudden spike in workload, so will user use that site?

Obviously no. And that’s why this performance testing is done to ensure that the application will work normally under any workload. And it has a very huge impact on company revenues as well.
